Biography

Alexandros Petrakis came across photography quite early in his life since his father shared his interests with him. At an early beginning, he gained a diploma in Orchestration of wind instruments and Music Harmony.

He graduated the AKTO Art & Design College with a BA Honors in Photography validated by Middlesex University. He started working as a freelance photographer around 2002 after taking part in many photography contests and exhibitions. He works in studio conditions but also outdoors, using studio flash and/or natural lighting and prefers medium and large format cameras with digital backs Sinar and Hasselblad.

Commercial photography is a major field in his career. Landscape and architectural photography are his favourite themes combined with the latest editing tools for an absolute fine result. Since 2015, he has also focused on videography and cinematography. It’s a field in which his photographic knowledge and experience combined with the moving picture and music allows him to create and express feelings in a true fascinating way.

Up until today he has collaborated with designers from all over the world, big advertising companies and architectural offices / individuals such as: Aristides Hotel, Animasyros, Swiss company Nagra audio high end, Balton furniture, Cocomat, Cosmote, Cycladic Museum, Dinner in the Sky, Greek Ministry of Tourism, Gastronomos magazine, Hotel Elia Mykonos, Spyropoulou Winery, Sandalia Cyclades, SiFF, Theosis bar, Warmpenguin and many others.
